In Contractor Foreman, both Attachments and Associated Files appear as sections within the Daily Logs module. While they may look similar, the difference lies in where the files were originally uploaded.

Attachments

Attachments are files that are uploaded directly to the Daily Log.
These can include photos, documents, or any other files added manually while creating or editing the Daily Log.

Example:
If you upload jobsite photos or inspection reports directly in the Daily Log, those files are considered Attachments.

Associated Files

Associated Files are files that were uploaded in other modules, such as the Project module or Safety Meetings, on the same day the Daily Log was created.

The Daily Log automatically pulls in and displays those files as Associated Files, allowing you to view all related documentation from the same day in one place.

Example:
If a document or image was uploaded to the Project or Safety Meetings module on the same date, that file will appear in the Daily Log under the Associated Files section.

In Summary

Both Attachments and Associated Files are displayed under the Daily Log’s Files section and also appear in the Project > Files and Photos area.
The key difference is where the file originated:

  • Attachments → Uploaded directly to the Daily Log.
  • Associated Files → Uploaded in other modules (such as Project or Safety Meetings) but shown in the Daily Log if added on the same day.
