Basics of Cost Items Database

Purpose:

To setup your Items Database which can then be quickly imported into an Estimate, Invoice, Change Order, etc.

Background:

In Contractor Foreman, Cost Item Database is a good tool to add all your items like Material, Equipment, Labor etc. So you don’t have to keep adding over & over.

Points to Remember:

To save your work, click the blue “Submit” button.

All items added here will make it easy & quick for the next time you need this info

Steps to Create a New Note:

  1. Navigate to Main Menu.
  2. Click on Cost Items Database.
  3. Enter the following information:

Materials Items Tab:

Select option for Material Items:

  • View Imports:
  • Export Material List:
  • Upload & Preview CSV:
  • View Import Template:
  • Add Material: Fill in the below fields.
  • Name: (Mandatory)
  • Status: (Mandatory)
  • Unit Cost/Unit: (Mandatory)
  • Markup%:
  • Cost Code: Select from drop-down.
  • Notes

Equipment Items Tab:

Select option for Equipment Items:

  • View Imports:
  • Export Equipment List:
  • Upload & Preview CSV:
  • View Import Template:
  • Add Equipment: Fill in the below fields.
  • Name / ID: (Mandatory)
  • Unit Cost/Unit:
  • Markup% / Status: (Mandatory)
  • Plat # / Registration Expiration:
  • Insurance Carrier / Inspection Expiration:
  • Policy # / Policy Expiration:
  • Purchase Date / Warranty Details:
  • Cost Code: Select from drop-down.
  • Last Master Reading:
  • Last Oil Change:
  • Last Tire Rotation:
  • Note:

Labor Items:

Select option for Labor Items:

  • View Imports:
  • Export Labor List:
  • Upload & Preview CSV:
  • View Import Template:
  • Add Labor: Fill in the below fields.
  • Name: (Mandatory)
  • Status: (Mandatory)
  • Unit Cost/Unit: (Mandatory)
  • Markup%:
  • Cost Code: Select from drop-down.
  • Notes:

Subcontractors:

Select option for Sub Contractor Items:

  • Name: (Mandatory)
  • Status: (Mandatory)
  • Unit Cost/Unit: (Mandatory)
  • Markup%:

Other Items:

Select option for Other Items:
