Change Orders Enhancements

Our biggest update this quarter belongs to one of our most popular modules, Change Orders. We’re thrilled to announce that the long-awaited improvement, “Change Orders should work the same as Estimates”, is finally complete! After months of development, we’re excited to introduce several new enhancements that streamline workflows and improve usability.

Overview of Key Enhancements

  1. Item SectionsItem Sections are now available within the module and can be imported into other modules, making it easier to organize items and providing greater flexibility in managing your data.

  1. Dynamic Assigned-To Fields

Contractor Foreman allows you to automatically populate the Estimator and Project Manager assigned to a project in a Change Order. You can also use the Other option to assign an additional role or team member. How to Use Dynamic

  1. Assigned-To Fields
  2. Open the Change Order you want to edit or create a new one.
  3. Locate the Assigned To field.
  4. Select the appropriate dynamic field for the project’s Estimator or Project Manager.
  5. Contractor Foreman will automatically populate the field with the person assigned to that role on the project.
  6. If you need to assign someone who does not fall under these roles, select Other and choose the appropriate assignee.
  7. Save the Change Order to apply your changes.

These dynamic fields help reduce manual data entry and ensure the appropriate project team members are consistently reflected in your Change Orders.

  1. Item Variations
Item Variations have been enabled in the module’s item details, making it easier to track differences within a single Change Order.
  1. Multi-Select and Delete Options
You can now select multiple items at once and delete them quickly, improving efficiency when managing large change orders.
  1. Improved Import Options
The import function for CCO/COR or Templates has been modified to clearly indicate the record type being imported, ensuring better clarity and fewer mistakes.
  1. SOV Integration
The Schedule of Values (SOV) will now display Change Orders within its Sections, allowing for better visibility and management of project changes.

Why This Matters

These updates ensure that the Change Orders module now aligns closely with the Estimates module, providing a more consistent and intuitive experience for project teams. Managing modifications, tracking assignments, and maintaining organized records is now faster and more accurate than ever.
