Contract Minus Costs

Overview
The Contract Minus Costs value shows how much budget remains for a project after subtracting all incurred costs. It helps determine the project’s profitability and financial health in real time.

Formula
Contract Minus Costs = Contract Amount – Actual Costs

Breakdown

  • Contract Amount: This total comes from the project’s Estimate, plus any Work Orders, Change Orders, and Service Tickets.

  • Actual Costs: These include all expenses recorded through Time Cards, Expenses, Bills, and Equipment Timecards.

Example
If a project’s total contract value (including approved changes) is $250,000 and the total cost incurred to date is $190,000, then:

Contract Minus Costs = 250,000 – 190,000 = $60,000 remaining
