In Contractor Foreman, you can apply markups to Change Order items either in bulk or individually, depending on your needs. Markups allow you to add a percentage to the base cost of materials, labor, equipment, or other applicable items to account for profit, overhead, or other indirect costs.

Apply Markup in Bulk

  1. To apply a markup to multiple items at once, open the Change Order and locate the Add Item to Change Order dropdown.
  2. Select Apply Automatic/Bulk Markup. You can then specify the markup percentage and choose the applicable item types, such as Materials, Labor, or Equipment.
  3. This allows you to apply the same markup efficiently across multiple Change Order items without updating each item individually.

Simply input your desired percentage for each category, and once you’re finished, select an option from “Apply to all items where markup is not set (or is set to 0)”, “Apply to all items where markup is set and greater than 0%”, or “Apply to all items (with or without an existing markup)”, and click “Apply” to implement the changes. Make sure to save the record to ensure that the changes are reflected in the Change Order.

To apply markup to individual items: After opening the Change Order, locate the specific line item that requires a markup adjustment, click the “eyeball” view icon next to that line item, and a pop-up will appear where you can input your markup in the “Markup” field. This allows you to fine-tune markups for individual line items based on specific costs or client agreements. By following this method, you can set up a markup by either a percentage or by setting a total amount.
