The platform allows you to change a project’s status easily using a visual progress bar and also offers customization options to modify default project statuses to suit your workflow. Once a project is created in Contractor Foreman, you can monitor and update its status as it progresses through various phases, such as Pending, Bidding, Started, or Completed.

To Change the Project Status, go to the Projects module, and select the project whose status you want to change. After opening the project, you will notice a progress bar at the top of the project page, located to the right of the project name. This bar visually represents the status of the project.

To change the status, click on the appropriate status in the progress bar. Once the appropriate status is selected, it will automatically update and reflect in the project’s header, allowing team members to see the current stage of the project.

While Contractor Foreman provides a set of default project statuses to help you track the life cycle of a project, you may need to customize these statuses to better fit your organization’s workflow. For example, you may want to rename a status, change its color to represent its importance better, or adjust the order in which statuses appear in the progress bar.

To edit default statuses, from the Menu, go to the Projects module. On the projects module, look for the “gear” icon located in the upper right corner. This will take you to the settings of the projects module.

Within the settings, find the Custom Status Labels Section. Here, you will see the default statuses such as Pending, Bidding, Started, Completed, and others. Click on the green pencil icon to enable the edit mode.

You can change the names of the default statuses to reflect your own organizational terminology. For example, you could rename “Started” to “Under Construction.” Also, each status can be assigned a unique color, making it easier to distinguish between different stages of the project visually. Additionally, You can change the order in which statuses appear in the dropdown or progress bar. For instance, if your workflow typically involves “Design Review” before “Pre-Construction,” you can adjust the order accordingly using the numbers.

After making your changes, be sure to click Save to apply the new statuses to your projects.
