How Do I Create a G702/G703 AIA Invoice?

Purpose

To create an AIA-style G702/G703 Invoice in Contractor Foreman.

Background

The G702/G703 AIA Invoice format is commonly used in construction to request payment based on the project’s progress and Schedule of Values (SOV).
In Contractor Foreman, this form can be generated directly from the Invoices module once your SOV and Change Orders (if any) are properly configured.

Note: This article will be updated to include a detailed, step-by-step process using the Schedule of Values (SOV).

Steps to Create a G702/G703 AIA Invoice

  1. Navigate to the Invoices module.

Main Menu → Financials → Invoices

  2. Select the Invoice you wish to generate using the G702/G703 AIA format.

  3. Click on the Action Items (three-dot icon) located in the upper-right corner.

  4. Select Submit to Client.

  5. A pop-up window will appear. Under Template Selection, scroll to the bottom of the list and choose one of the following options:

    • AIA-Style G702 (PDF)

    • AIA-Style G702 (Excel)

  6. Select your preferred format.

Once selected, click the Download icon to generate and download the file.

Important Notes About Change Orders (COs)

  • The AIA Invoice will not include Change Order information unless the Change Order has been approved.

  • When a Change Order is approved, its financial information is automatically added to the Schedule of Values (SOV).
This updated SOV will then be reflected in the G702/G703 AIA invoice.

Troubleshooting Change Order Issues

If your Change Orders are not appearing correctly in the AIA invoice, follow these steps to test:

  1. Create a Change Order.

  2. Generate the AIA invoice before approving the Change Order.

  3. Approve the Change Order and generate the AIA invoice again.

  4. Move the Change Order back to Draft and re-run the AIA to test visibility.

If the issue persists or you notice unexpected results, contact the Support Team for assistance.
