How do I cross reference to an RFI in Change Order Request?

Contractor Foreman allows you to associate an existing RFI (Request for Information) with a Change Order Request (COR). This provides a clear reference between the RFI and the COR and helps keep project documentation organized.

Step 1: Create a Change Order Request

1. Open the Change Order Requests area and create a new Change Order Request.
2. Enter the required information, including the Project, Subject, COR #, and Date, then create the Change Order Request.

Step 2: Open the Change Order Request Details

1. Once the Change Order Request has been created, open the COR and go to the Details section.
2. Locate the Associated RFI field.

Step 3: Select the Associated RFI

1. Click the Associated RFI field and select the relevant RFI from the available options.
2. This associates the RFI with the Change Order Request, making it easier to identify the information or request related to the potential change.

Step 4: Add Items to the Change Order Request

1. If the Change Order Request contains items that will later be used for a Change Order, open the Items section of the COR and add the required items.

Step 5: Import Items into a Change Order

1. When you are ready to use the Change Order Request items in a Change Order, open the applicable Change Order and go to the Items section.
2. Select the option to Import Change Order Request/Template or the corresponding import option for Change Order Request items.

Use the available filters or select the appropriate Change Order Request, then click Add Items to import the items into the Change Order.

Step 6: Verify the Imported Items

1. After the import is complete, review the Change Order’s Items section to confirm that the items from the Change Order Request have been added successfully.

Important

The Associated RFI field is available on the Change Order Request and is used to connect the COR with an existing RFI. When moving the work forward to a Change Order, the items from the Change Order Request can be imported using the Change Order Request import option.
