How do I designate whether Progress Invoicing for a Project is based on % complete or unit quantity?

First, we need to enable the Unit Billing in the Settings>System Settings>Financials. Make sure that the Unit Cost Progress Billing is “On” as shown below.

Once the Unit Cost Progress Billing has been enabled, then in every Project you will have the option to select Progress Billing type; “Percentage Billing” or “Unit Billing”. This option can be found in the Financial section of the Project as shown below.

It is important to select the Progress Billing type before you generate the first invoice. Once an invoice has been created, you will not be able to change the Progress Billing type.

This feature applies only to the SOV items.

How to enable Over Billing?

Right on the Financial section of our Project, we have the option to “Allow Invoices to Exceed Contract”, you just have to click on it and select “Yes” as shown below. It is important to enable the “Unit Billing” first, in order to have this option available in our Projects.
