In Contractor Foreman, the process of enabling the Procurement tab begins once the Estimate is approved. Here’s a breakdown of how it works:

Assigning Vendors or Subcontractors: While creating your Estimate, you have the option to assign specific Vendors or Subcontractors to line items. You can do this directly when inputting details into the Estimate or by using the Bid Manager. If you prefer, the Bid Manager feature allows you to create bid packages to solicit bids from your Vendors or Subcontractors. This feature helps streamline the process of receiving competitive pricing and ensures you have the right partners in place before moving forward.

Populating the “Assigned to” Column: As soon as you finalize your Estimate and assign Vendors or Subcontractors to relevant line items (via either method), the “Assigned to” column in the Estimate Module gets populated. This step is important because if this field is populated, at the moment the Project is created, the Procurement tab gets enabled. If the column assigned to is not populated, the Procurement tab will not be shown in your project.
