How do I generate a Budget vs Actual report for a lump sum project?

Contractor Foreman provides a set of reporting tools to help you evaluate the financial performance of your projects, including labor costs and overall project management summaries.

Begin by navigating to the main menu in Contractor Foreman, and select the Reports module. This module contains a variety of reporting tools that provide insight into various aspects of your project, including costs, profit margins, and more.

Once you are in the Reports module, expand the Job Costs section. This is where you can generate various cost-related reports for your projects.

The best report you can generate to compare your Budget vs your Actual expense/cost is the Job Cost Actual Report (Detailed), find it within the Job Costs Section, and click on the View button next to the report. This will open a pop-up where you can provide all the details of your report and click on Generate Report.

The report will show you Contract Amount, Budget amount, Invoiced amount against Timecard costs, Bills, Expenses and Equipment Costs, allowing you to see if these expenses are in line with expectations or if adjustments need to be made. This report can be also found within the Project under the report tab along with other 3 key reports; Budget vs Actual Labor Report, Job Cost Committed Report (Detailed) andJob Cost Committed Report.

Job Cost Actual Report (Detailed)

Budget vs Actual Labor Report: Report to see hours budgeted vs hours already spent in the job site.

Job Cost Committed Report (Detailed): Detailed report that shows your budget per item type and per cost code, great report to compare and see Estimated Cost vs Actual Cost at a more granular level.

Job Cost Committed Report: Report that shows all your commitments with vendors and/or subcontractors, and actual cost. Great report to foresee future costs to the project in a more realistic scenario.
