Whether you need to review hours worked, labor cost, billing rates, cost codes, or project distribution, the Time Card Report section gives you everything in a clean, well-structured format.

Below is a step-by-step guide on how to generate a weekly time card report for a specific employee.

Step 1: Go to the Reports Module

From the left-hand navigation menu, open Reports.

Once inside, scroll to the very last section on the page:

Time Card Report

This section contains six different report options for time tracking.

Step 2: Select “Time Activity (Most Popular)”

You will see six report types, but the one we recommend is:

Time Activity – Most Popular

Next to it, click the blue View button.

This will open a new pop-up window with the report filters.

Step 3: Set Your Filters

Inside the pop-up window, you will see several sections that let you customize your report:

Date Range

By default, Contractor Foreman automatically shows:

  • Last 7 days
…which is perfect for generating a weekly report.

You can change the dates if you need a specific week.

Employees

This is where you choose the employee(s) for the report.

  • Select one employee for an individual weekly time card report
  • Select multiple if you need a broader report
  • Leave blank to pull ALL employees

Projects (Optional)

You can narrow the results by project.

Important:

  • If you don’t select any projects, the report will include all projects where the employee logged time.

Step 4: Enable Optional Columns (If Applicable)

If your company uses additional data fields inside Time Cards, you can enable them here:

  • Employee Number
  • Event Tax
  • Project Number
  • Cost Code ID
  • Overtime Code

And select the rate you want it to be applied.

  • Labor Rate (what the employee earns per hour)
  • Billing Rate (what you charge clients per hour)
  • Burden Rate (the true cost of the employee per hour)

Enabling only what you need keeps the report clean and tailored.

Step 5: Choose the Hours Format

You can group the hours by:

  • Employee
  • Project
  • Cost Code
  • Day
  • None

For weekly time cards, Group by Day or Group by Project is very commonly used.

Step 6: Additional Filters (Optional)

You will also find other optional filters, such as:

  • Tags
  • Cost Code
  • Project Type
  • Project Status

These are useful if you want highly refined data for accounting or payroll.

Step 7: Choose Report Format

At the bottom, pick how you want to export the report:

  • Excel (recommended)
  • CSV

Excel formatting makes the report easy to read, print, or share.

Step 8: Generate the Report

Click the button to run the report, and Contractor Foreman will generate a clean, well-structured document with:
