Using notifications to alert employees when they’ve been assigned to an Opportunity is crucial for maintaining clear communication, accountability, and timely follow-up.

When an employee is instantly notified—whether by email, push notification, or text message—they can take immediate action without having to constantly check the system. This ensures that no Opportunity is overlooked, and every potential client receives timely attention.

In residential construction or service-based businesses, follow-ups often make the difference between winning or losing a project. Quick responses show professionalism, build trust with the client, and improve the company’s chances of closing the deal.

Additionally, notifications create ownership and responsibility—the assigned employee knows the Opportunity is theirs to manage, and managers can easily track who’s accountable for each lead.

In short, using notifications keeps the team aligned, responsive, and organized—helping prevent missed chances and ensuring every lead gets the attention it deserves.

There are a couple of ways to assign or notify an employee for a follow-up within an Opportunity:

1. Assign them as the Sales Rep:
In the Opportunity record, use the Sales Rep field to assign the Opportunity to a specific employee. This makes them the owner of that Opportunity, meaning they are responsible for managing it and everything related to it. When assigned, the employee will receive a one-time notification informing them that a new Opportunity has been assigned.

2. Create a Task linked to the Opportunity:
For more flexibility and ongoing reminders, you can create a Task within the Opportunity and assign it to the employee. This option allows you to specify actions or deadlines for follow-up. The assigned employee will receive a push notification in the mobile app, a text message (if enabled and located in the U.S.), and an email notification—ensuring they don’t miss the follow-up.

This second method is especially effective for keeping follow-ups consistent and visible across your team.
