How do I restrict the Internal Notes entered on the Project screen from being seen by other Users?

Internal Notes play a vital role in documenting key information and communication within a project. However, there may be times when you want to keep certain notes private and restrict them from being viewed by other users in Contractor Foreman. Here’s how you can manage this by ensuring that notes remain private.

From the main Menu, go to the Projects module and select the project where the note is associated. Once you’ve opened the project, click on the Documents tab located in the left panel. Within the Documents tab, scroll down until you find the Notes section. This will display a list of all notes that have been created for the selected project.

Find the note you want to restrict. You can either click the preview icon or the open-in-new-window icon to view it in full detail. Once the note is opened, look for the green pencil icon in the upper-right corner. Click this icon to enter the edit mode for the note.

Just below the tags section, you will find a checkbox labeled Make Private: Visible Only to Me. Check this box to restrict the note from being viewed by anyone else in the system.

After you’ve marked the note as private, click Save to ensure that the restriction is applied.

If you prefer to manage notes from the Notes module instead of within the project. From the main Menu, click on the Notes module. This will display a list of all notes created across different projects. Find the note you wish to restrict. Open the note and follow the same process as described above and mark it as private.

Be sure to click Save once you’ve made the changes.
