How do I share a file with a client or vendor?

In Contractor Foreman, you can easily share files—such as photos, PDFs, Word documents, spreadsheets, and more—with your clients, vendors, or any other contacts in your account.
You can share files directly from a module, from a project, or from the Files and Photos section.

Step 1: Locate the File

First, identify where the file is stored. Files can be found in several places:

• Within a specific record (such as a To-Do, Bill, or Invoice)
• Under a Project, inside Files and Photos
• Or directly in the Files and Photos module, organized by folders

Tip: The system automatically creates folders by module (e.g., Daily Logs, Safety Meetings, Invoices), so you can quickly find what you need.

Step 2: Share the File

Once you have located the file:

• Click the three-dot (⋮) icon on the top right corner of the file.
• Select “Email”
• Enter the recipient’s email address (client, vendor, or any contact).
• Add an optional message and click Send.

This will email the selected file directly from Contractor Foreman to your chosen contact.

Step 3: Share Through the Client Portal (Optional)

If you are sharing a document with a customer via the Client Portal:

• Hover your cursor over the file you want to share.
• Click the person icon that appears on top of the file.
• This enables sharing through the client’s portal.

Once enabled, the client will be able to view the file within their Customer Portal.
