In Contractor Foreman, you can easily monitor these costs as they are clearly separated by default. This ensures that your project’s original budget remains intact, and you can track all the approved financial changes.

Once the Change Order is created and approved, it gets automatically added to the overall project value, but it does not replace the Original Contract Amount (Change Orders in Draft or On Hold stages will not be added to the Schedule of Values. Hence, they will not add a value to the total project amount until it’s approved)

Go to the Projects module from the main menu and select the project you want to view. Click the Summary tab in the left panel of the project.

In the Project Summary section, you will see the following key financial details:

Original Contract Amount (w/Tax): This shows the initial agreed contract amount before any Change Orders.
Change Orders (w/Tax): This field lists the cumulative value of all approved Change Orders added to the project.
Total Project Amount (w/Tax): This displays the final project value, which is the sum of the Original Contract Amount and all approved Change Orders.

For a more granular view of costs, go to the Schedule of Values (SOV) tab within the project.

Here, you will find separate breakdowns for:

Approved Estimated Items: These are the items and costs that were part of the original contract or estimate.
Change Order Items: These represent the additional costs that resulted from approved Change Orders.

The Schedule of Values allows you to see individual items, both from the original contract and the Change Orders, giving you a comprehensive overview of project costs.
