How to Create a Bid Package from an Estimate

To create a Bid Package from an Estimate:

  1. Open the Estimate in question.

  2. Select the Bidding tab.

  3. Select +Bid Package to get started.

Entering Itemized Bids on Behalf of Subcontractors

If you want to manually enter bids on behalf of your subcontractors, the correct way to handle this is by using the Invite to Bid option.

  1. Go to Settings > Notifications.

  2. Enable the option that sends a notification to the subcontractor once the Invite to Bid has been sent.

  3. At this point, you can add the name of an employee who will be responsible for entering the subcontractor’s bid information.

  • This setting applies system-wide (company-wide), not per estimate, estimator, or salesperson.

  • The designated employee will receive a copy of the Invite to Bid notification and can then fill in the required fields on behalf of the subcontractor.

  • This works as a workaround to ensure bid information is captured even if the subcontractor does not complete the form directly.

Key Points

  • Subcontractors are notified automatically when an Invite to Bid is sent.

  • An employee can be assigned to input bid details on the subcontractor’s behalf.

  • This ensures all required information is collected accurately, without relying on the subcontractor to enter it themselves.
