How to add a tax percentage to bids so it can automatically give the total with tax?

To add a tax percentage to your estimates automatically, start by navigating to the of Contractor Foreman, where your estimates are created and managed. Once you’re in the Estimates module, choose the estimate to which you want to add tax.

To make changes and add tax to your estimate, you’ll need to navigate to the Items tab from the left panel. In the items tab, you’ll see all of your estimate items. To the right of each estimate line item, you’ll see a checkbox that marks that item as taxable. You can only select the items that are taxable, so the tax is calculated only for those items.

Select all the taxable items and scroll down to the bottom of the estimate, where you can choose the specific tax percentage. If your local tax rate is already stored in the system, you can select it from the list. If not, you may have to setup the relevant tax percentage in the settings. Once the tax is added, Contractor Foreman will automatically calculate the Sub Total of the Estimate, Tax amount, and the Total including tax just below where you selected the tax percentage. Make sure the correct tax rate has been applied, and verify that the total amount shown reflects the tax-inclusive price.
