How to Collect Client Signatures Using Service Tickets

Service Tickets make it easy to capture a client’s signature directly from the field, helping document completed work, confirm customer approval, and maintain accurate records for future reference. Whether you are using a phone or tablet, signatures can be collected immediately after work is completed and stored directly with the Service Ticket.

When a technician arrives on-site and completes the requested work, they can open the Service Ticket from the Contractor Foreman mobile app. Before closing out the visit, review the completed work with the client and confirm that all requested services have been performed to their satisfaction.

Within the Service Ticket, scroll to the signature section and select the option to capture a signature. Hand the mobile device to the client and have them sign directly on the screen using their finger or a stylus. Once the signature has been entered, save the Service Ticket to attach the signed approval to the record.

The signature becomes part of the Service Ticket and can be referenced later when reviewing project activity, resolving disputes, verifying completed work, or generating documentation for billing purposes. Because the signature is stored with the ticket, office staff and project managers can easily access the information without needing separate paperwork or scanned documents.

Collecting signatures at the time work is completed helps reduce delays in approvals and provides clear documentation that the customer has reviewed and accepted the work performed. This process is especially valuable for service departments, warranty work, maintenance visits, and any situation where proof of completion is required.

Using the Mobile App

To collect a signature using the Contractor Foreman mobile app:

  1. Open the Service Ticket assigned to the job.
  2. Complete any required notes, labor entries, or work details.
  3. Navigate to the signature area within the ticket.
  4. Select the option to capture a signature.
  5. Have the client sign directly on the device screen.
  6. Save the Service Ticket to store the signature with the record.

Once saved, the signature will remain attached to the Service Ticket and can be viewed by authorized users whenever needed.

Best Practices

For the best experience, collect the signature before leaving the job site and verify that the signature has been saved successfully. If your company uses Service Tickets as part of its billing or approval process, ensure all required information is completed before requesting the customer’s signature, as this creates a complete and accurate record of the work performed.
