Custom Reports in Contractor Foreman allow you to extract exactly the information you need from any module, Daily Logs, Estimates, Invoices, Time Cards, Change Orders, Projects, Safety, and more. The Custom Report Builder gives you full control over what columns appear, how data is filtered, and how the final report is exported.

Below is a step-by-step guide showing you how to generate any Custom Report.

Step 1: Go to the Reports Module

At the top-right corner of the page, you will find:

Create New Custom Report

Click this button to begin.

Step 2: Select the Module or Feature

You will see a list of all available modules that support custom reporting, including:

  • Daily Reports
  • Time Cards
  • Estimates
  • Bills
  • Change Orders
  • Contacts
  • Equipment
  • Projects
  • Safety
  • Submittals
  • Punch Lists
  • Purchase Orders
    …and many more.

Choose the module you want to extract information from.

Step 3: The Custom Report Editor Opens

Once you select a module, Contractor Foreman loads the Custom Report Editor, where you can customize every part of the report.

The editor contains four main sections:

  1. Columns
  2. Filters
  3. Sort Options
  4. Date Range

Step 4: Choose Your Columns

Inside the Columns section, you can:

  • Add or remove data fields
  • Rearrange columns
  • Include custom fields you previously created
  • Activate or deactivate any data point you want to display

Anything listed here will show up in your report.

If you created a Custom Field, it will appear in this list exactly as you named it.

Step 5: Apply Filters

The Filters section allows you to refine the report by:

  • Project
  • Employee
  • Status
  • Type
  • Category
  • Created by
  • Assigned to
  • Vendor / Subcontractor
  • Cost code
  • And other module-specific filters

Leaving all filters blank will include everything in the module.

Step 6: Select Date Range

You can choose from preset ranges like:

  • Today
  • Yesterday
  • Last 7 days
  • Last 30 days
  • This month
  • Last month
  • This year
  • Last year

Or set a custom date range.

Step 7: Sort Your Report

If needed, you can choose how the data is sorted:

  • By date
  • By employee
  • By project
  • By cost code
  • Alphabetically
  • By status
  • Or no sorting at all

Step 8: Download the Report

When everything looks right:

Click Download and choose the format:

  • PDF
  • Excel (.xlsx)

Some modules (like payroll-related reports) may only allow CSV due to the nature of their data.

Step 9: Save the Report (Optional)

If you want to reuse the same report layout in the future:

Click Save Report

Your saved report will appear under:

Saved Custom Reports

…at the top of the Reports module.

This saves you time, you never need to rebuild the report again.

Conclusion

Generating a custom report in Contractor Foreman is fast, flexible, and completely customizable. You choose the data, the filters, the date range, and the format. And once you build it, you can save it for future use.

If the information exists in Contractor Foreman, you can create a Custom Report to extract it.
