In Contractor Foreman, there are several ways to view and manage the schedule status of a project, whether you need to create, edit, or simply monitor the project’s timeline. The system provides various views and tools to track the progress of tasks, whether through a Gantt chart, list format, or calendar view.

Creating/modifying/viewing Gantt chart schedules from the Schedule Module

The most comprehensive way to view and manage a project’s schedule is through the Schedule Module. This module allows you to create, edit, and customize the Gantt chart, offering a detailed view of the project’s timeline. Go to the Menu and select the Schedule module, then it will open the full scheduling interface where you can build and adjust the project’s timeline. You can create the initial Gantt chart here, input tasks, set milestones, and adjust dates.

Within this module, the Gantt chart is the primary tool used to manage and track tasks. You can set and see the schedule in a graphical format that displays the duration of tasks, task dependencies, and project milestones. You can also switch to a list format or monthly view to get a different perspective on the schedule.

Viewing the Schedule from the Projects Module

In addition to the Schedule Module, you can view and make edits to the project’s schedule directly from the project’s Schedule Tab. Navigate to the specific project by selecting it from the Projects menu. Within the project, select the Schedule tab. Here, you will see the Gantt chart where you can view and modify task details, such as start and end dates, task dependencies, and other schedule information.

While you can make basic edits to the schedule directly from this page (similar to the Schedule Module), creating the initial Gantt chart is not possible here. To start the schedule, you must first go to the Schedule Module. Once the Gantt chart has been created, you can then return to the Schedule Tab of the project to make adjustments as needed.

Viewing the Schedule in the Calendar Module

For an alternative view of your project’s schedule, the Calendar Module provides a calendar format that allows you to see tasks, deadlines, and milestones from all projects. This view is helpful when you want to see how various projects are overlapping or impacting each other.
Navigate to the Calendar Module by going to the Menu and selecting Calendar. You can customize the calendar view by adjusting the Display Options. This allows you to see information coming from different modules. Make sure you have switched Schedule on to see tasks coming from your Gantt charts. This is a particularly useful tool when managing multiple projects, as it helps you visualize task schedules and other tasks in a broader context.

Updating the progress of the schedule

As tasks in the Gantt chart are updated, the overall project completion percentage is automatically calculated and displayed. You can find this cumulative completion percentage in the Summary Tab of the project. Here, a widget called Schedule Completed will show the progress of the project, allowing you to easily track how much of the project has been completed based on the task updates.
