How do I import cost codes from a CSV file?

If you already have a list of cost codes, you can import them into Contractor Foreman using a CSV file. Contractor Foreman provides an import template to help ensure your cost codes are formatted correctly before uploading them.

Step 1: Download the Import Template

  1. Go to the Main Menu and select Settings.
  2. Under System Settings, select Cost Codes.
  3. Open the Action dropdown menu.
  4. Select View Import Template.
  5. A CSV template will download to your computer.

Step 2: Add Your Cost Codes

  1. Open the downloaded CSV file using Excel or another compatible spreadsheet application.
  2. Enter your cost codes in the appropriate columns.
  3. Follow the format and column structure provided in the template.
  4. Save the completed file as a CSV.

Step 3: Import the Cost Codes

  1. Return to Settings → System Settings → Cost Codes.
  2. Open the Action dropdown menu.
  3. Select Import Cost Codes (From File).

  1. Select the completed CSV file from your computer.
  2. Upload the file and complete the import process.

This method is useful when you already have an established cost code system and want to transfer your existing cost codes into Contractor Foreman.
