In Contractor Foreman, you have the ability to manage the way you, your employees and even subcontractors (if they have access as users) receive the notifications. This can be done very easily from the System Settings > Notifications.

Here, you will see the whole list of notifications that Contractor Foreman has as shown below.

Using the screenshot above as an example; we have just one notification in the Bills Module, “Create Bill”, this is the “when” the assigned user will receive the notification, and the how is via email, text message SMS (need to have a cell phone number setup in the directory) and push notification because the 3 checks are shown in green. Now, when we look at the Change Orders Module Notifications, the notification “Approved Change Order Request” has only 2 ways to receive notifications, via email and Push Notification.

I would like to get notifications even if I am not the “assigned user”.

A clear example is the “Create Bill” notification, by default there is not any assigned user to the bills, so how can I get a notification every time someone creates a bill in the Bills Module?

Click on “Create Bill” to open the settings of this specific notification and you will get the below

pop-up window.

From Name: Here you can click on the drop down menu and select the company or the owner of the account. This From Name is the notification sender

Reply to: If someone decides to reply to the email notification, that reply will go to the email listed here. This is by default the owner of the account email and cannot be changed.

Email Subject: That is the subject in the email, in this case “Notification: Bill Created” We can customize this subject.

Write your email below body: This is basically the content of the notification. You can revise the text to have further directions, for example, “A Bill has been created, please confirm with vendor/subcontractor and proceed with payment”

“Assigned Contacts plus those listed below”: As we mentioned above, there is no field in the Bills where we can have an assigned user or contact, so how can I get this notification. We have to click on this feature to be able to add whomever you want to receive this notification. Every time a bill is created a want “X” employee to receive that notification. When you click on this feature you will see a pop-up window that will allow to select one or multiple users.

Notice that if you scroll below you have similar settings for Push notifications and Text SMS notifications.
