What is the difference between the Billing rate and the Burden rate in Employee Timecard reporting?

  • Billing Rate: The rate charged to the client for an employee’s time. It is used when calculating billable labor costs on Estimates, Invoices, and job costing reports.
  • Burden Rate: The company’s internal cost of an employee’s time, including labor costs and applicable overhead. It is used for internal cost and profitability calculations.

They do not affect each other and are designed for separate reporting purposes.
